An initial consultation by phone or online does not cost until you have decided I can help you with your project. If you decide to go ahead with my initial ideas then my costs are based on an hourly rate, starting at £160 plus travel costs. The cost for this would be confirmed depending on location.
If you are interested please contact me to discuss your requirements and how I can help. Have a look at my 3D walkthrough portfolio.
After our initial conversation I will come up with a couple of rough concept ideas based on your needs and we can talk them through to see if you want to take the plans further.
My detailed design packages start at £480 and depend on the size, complexity and location of the garden and the design work involved. I specialise in small to medium projects.
If you have a set budget in mind for remaking your garden that makes it so much easier. We can work inside that, putting a contingency aside for issues that may arise, changes to the agreed hard landscaping materials, for instance.
Our initial discussions and exchange of ideas come with no charge or commitment. However, this is your dream garden, so we will put our heads together to see how much the ultimate ideal concept would cost. We can then hone it down to a smaller project, a series of improvements over time or even increase the budget if you feel that there are certain materials or requirements we haven’t covered.
Once you have decided to go ahead, we are happy with the final budget and the plan of the garden is finalised half of my fee will become due.
Then depending on the time of year, which affects delivery dates, I will provide a detailed list of specific plants and a full planting plan, including costs and suggested suppliers, with the planting design package. Any soil improvements, irrigation systems or staking and supports will also be highlighted in the plan.
Any extra services you need from me should be discussed at the early stages so we can look at time management. Those optional extras could include sourcing new suppliers, taking an active role in the tendering process, site visits during construction can be arranged though I do not offer project management at this stage. Most of these costs would be based on my hourly rate, but we would agree those early in the consultation.
The rule of thumb seems to be to look at your garden as you would a new extension and cost your requirements in that way. If you want a full outdoor kitchen/dining area fully lit then you should budget for that. Hard landscaping materials and labour will be the biggest percentage of your costs.
I look forward to helping you achieve your perfect space.
