Do you dream of billowing cottage borders, blooms flopping onto the path as the bees buzz around the lavender? What about the latest trend for prairie elegance, a view of Colorado from your patio? Or is it stark clean lines surrounding the firepit as the scent of flowers fills the Summer evening?
And the look is not all you have to think about. On those evenings you want to catch up with friends and know the kids are playing, planting, climbing and firing up an imagination, in a nice safe place.
There is a lot to think about when you take on a new garden. Garden centres have hundreds of plants. The staff are knowledgeable, the labels are clear, the colours are obvious and some of the names are familiar.
However, how do you know what those plants will actually DO in your garden and how long will they take to do it? How do you keep them watered? For instance, containers need more attention than borders, and in today’s busy world, that it is one big consideration. Growing your own veg is so rewarding but needs different care.
Then there is lighting. That gorgeous tree that was there when you moved in sits unnoticed in the evening. Does it need a spotlight? The path, the steps, the beautiful water feature, they will need highlighting.
Just talking about these things fills me with excitement and I have the expertise to help you with the dilemmas. Have a look at some of my concept plans. Is there one that fits your needs, or do you want to mix and match some aspects? Or have you always had a dream garden in your mind but you’re just not sure how to make it.
